Balaam was initially a great example of following the will of the Lord despite immense persuasion to curse Israel. Eventually, he gave into greed though. Now, we do not know everything about Balaam. We do not know whether he had the priesthood or had entered into a covenant relationship with Lord or not. But for those of us who have made sacred covenants, when we are tempted to do anything contrary to the will of the Lord, if we focus on those covenants and the relationship they entail, if we call upon our God to grant us strength through our relationship with Christ, if we value that relationship and are grateful for it, He will give us power to overcome. He will fight for us as He did for Israel, our part is to always remember Him. Remember our covenant relationship with our Redeemer and value that above all else.
