Every Week, already prepared

This week’s lesson is waiting when you open it

No printing, no prep, nothing to look up first. Tap the week and it is all there — and every reference opens right in its chapter, so nobody has to go hunting while the family waits.

The reading

This week’s chapters, ready to read together, with room for everyone’s notes and highlights beside them.

The story behind it

What actually happens this week, told in plain words as eight to ten moments children can follow — and each one opens the verse it came from.

Meet the cast

The prophets, disciples and families of the week, with a face and a story. Tap one and you can ask them about their own story.

A study, started for you

Generate a study page right from the Come, Follow Me page. Simply write your thoughts, or use a plethora of included scripture analysis tools for a scholarly approach.

The part they will ask for

Many games, all made out of this week’s verses

Not trivia bolted on to scripture. Every phrase, clue and puzzle comes from the chapters you are already reading, so playing is studying — everyone loves it! New games and fresh questions keep arriving, so the shelf your family plays from is never the same one twice.

Catchphrase
Scripture Jeopardy
Gospel Feud
Hangman
Church Bingo
Color by Number
Crossword
Match the Faces

Plus Crossover, Scramble, Connect the Dots, Guess Who, Scripture Golf, Scripture Battleship, Scripture Memory, Picture Puzzle — and more on the way.

Ways to play

Round the table, across the miles, or on the TV

Around the table

One phone, passed hand to hand. Everybody’s names go in, and off you go — no second device and no accounts for anyone else.

With a friend

Play one turn at a time with a cousin three states away, or a friend from church. Take your turn when you have a minute then it's their turn.

Party mode

Put the game up on the television and everybody joins from the phone already in their pocket with a four-letter code. Have a blast competing and learning toghether!

On your own

A quiet crossword, a coloring page, or a verse to memorise, for the ten minutes before anyone else is up.

And when somebody wants to go deeper

A serious suite of scholarly scripture study tools, under the same roof

Use various analysis tools to see the scriptures as you've never seen them before. Find patterns, expand symbols, and increase the depth of your daily sudies to draw closer to the Savior.

Better with other people

Share your insights online, and read everybody else's thoughts

The best thought about a chapter is usually somebody else’s. Post what struck you this week, see what struck everyone else, and take the good ones home with you. Social media focused on Christ.

This week’s insights

Every Come, Follow Me week has a thread of its own. Write the thing you noticed, read what everybody else noticed, and easily see top insights at the top.

Share entire studies

Share a study with all the tools and insights used to create it so that everyone can learn together. Save other people's posts for later to continue your learning.

Friends, and a link for everybody else

Add family and friends by name, tag them in a post, and play them at a game a turn a day. Spread the joy of the Gospel with the click of a button.

Separate private thoughts and shared insights

Your notes, highlights and studies are yours and stay on your device. Sharing is something you do only when you want, one study or one thought at a time.

Everyone, at once

Something for every age — and better, for every age together

Most family study flounders on one problem: whatever suits the seventeen-year-old loses the four-year-old, and the other way round. Practical Gospel is built so the same half hour works for both of them at the same time.

Before they can read

Match the Faces and Picture Puzzle need no reading at all, and every match reads a verse aloud. Hand the phone over with Kids Mode on and it stays where you left it.

The ones who take some convincing

Party mode on the television, everybody on their own phone, and a scoreboard. It is a game night that happens to be the lesson.

Whoever is teaching

Teacher Mode lets you write your own phrases and questions before Sunday, so the games ask about the things your family is talking about.

And the one who loves the details

The word studies, the original languages and the cross-references are all there for whoever wants to disappear into them for an hour.

Questions

The things people ask first

The things people want to know before they start.

What is Practical Gospel?

A free app for studying Come, Follow Me as a family. It gives you this week’s reading, the story behind it, printable pages for the table, family games built out of the verses you are studying that week, and a set of scripture study tools for going deeper.

Is Practical Gospel free?

Yes. The Come, Follow Me hub, the weekly reading and study, the printables and a set of the games are free for anyone with an account. Premium is $5 a month, or $30 for the first year and $48 a year after, and adds syncing your library across devices, the rest of the games and the deeper study tools. There is a 7-day free trial, and nothing you have already made stops working if you leave.

Does it work offline?

Most of it, yes. The whole scripture text lives on your device, so the reading, your notes, the study tools and the games all work with no connection. Signing in the first time, syncing and anything social need one.

Do I need an account?

To keep your own notes and studies, yes. Somebody joining a party-mode game on their phone does not, and neither does somebody opening a study you shared with them.

Is this an official Church app?

No. Practical Gospel is not an official product of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Scripture text is public domain; study aids and lesson material belonging to the Church are linked to churchofjesuschrist.org and never reproduced here.

What is Come, Follow Me?

Come, Follow Me is the weekly home-and-church study curriculum of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which walks through the standard works on a four-year cycle. Practical Gospel follows that same schedule and opens on whichever week it currently is.
