Elisha's miracles point towards Christ. In 2 Kings 4, the first miracle he performs is the multiplying of oil for the widow so that her sons will not be sold into slavery for a debt she cannot pay. We all have a debt we cannot pay, and our Redeemer steps in to pay it and buy us back. Note in verse 7 the debt is paid AND there is extra to live off. Our Savior provides the same; not only does He free is, He offers us all that the Father has. It's also worth noting that Elisha commanded the woman to go and gather pots - he asked her to show faith by doing with - and afterwards, the Lord magnified and multiplied her efforts.

Next, he brought the righteous desires of the heart (a child) to the woman that made room for him in her house. As we make run for the prophet, and even more, our Savior in our life, we will be blessed. When her child later died, Elisha, through the power of Jesus Christ, raised the child from the dead. Not only is bringing one back from the dead the greatest physical miracle, it also points towards Christ's two greatest miracles - the resurrection and raising all to immortality, and His Atonement, where He makes it possible for us to be raised again from spiritual death and reunited with our Heavenly Father.

Next, he made the poisonous meal no longer poisonous, again, symbolizing the Atonement of Christ.

Finally, he multiplies food to feed far more than it should have, pointing towards Christ's later miracles of feeding multitudes.

When you see prophets like Elijah and Elisha performing such mighty miracles, it's easy to imagine why the Jews may not have followed Christ simply because of His miracles when he was on the earth. They were used to hearing of such miracles. It was only those who truly listened to the spirit that gained a testimony that Jesus was the Son of God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
