The Israelites suffered bondage and death at the hands of the Egyptians for a long time as they awaited their promised deliverance.
The Israelites suffered bondage and death at the hands of the Egyptians for a long time as they awaited their promised deliverance. With Moses as a type of Christ, that deliverance came. Centuries later, the Messiah came to deliver all of God's children from the bondage and death of a greater enemy - sin, the natural man, and the captivity of the Son of Mourning.
If we feel overwhelmed - if we, for whatever reason, are caught between an army and a sea, whether by our own sin and disobedience or the agency of others - this is the message that our Savior has for us:
Moses 14
13 ...Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day...
14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
God does fight for us. He fights on our behalf, and He fights to claim us. It is His work and glory to save and to fight for us to know our Father in Heaven - to enter into a covenant relationship with our literal Father, God Almighty.
We cannot fight an army, and we cannot part a sea. Life will surround us with trials that we are incapable of overcoming. But Christ will overcome them for us. We must have faith, and He will bring joy.
