I really enjoyed reading in Psalms this morning. I love the praise and beauty of the Lord these verses declare. They bring peace amidst trials and point our eyes and hearts continually to our Savior.

Psalm 110
1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

I've talked before about who is my "enemy". Thankfully, I don't have people trying to kill me. My enemies are the adversary of righteousness and the natural man. Each try to move me away from His right hand. But I am tethered to my Savior, and that tether will never break from His end. As I keep His covenant and commandments, it will not break from my end, and I will stay at His right hand. The things which try to bring me low will instead be for my benefit and the Lord will place me to stand on top of them.

I love how the Lord told Adam that the earth would be cursed for his sake. The phrase "for your sake" means to do something for your benefit, advantage, or well-being. Our trials are blessings if we let them bring us closer to our Savior. In the furnace of mortality we must soften in humility to allow the master craftsman to forge us into what we could not imagine possible. Though the heat is great, enduring it will shape us into celestial beings.

I want to amend that last statement. Enduring will not shape us, it will allow the Savior to shape us.
