Samson was not a righteous man, yet he played a in important time in God's plan by delivering Israel though he died in the end to accomplish this.
Samson was not a righteous man, yet he played a in important time in God's plan by delivering Israel though he died in the end to accomplish this. I do not speak of the ultimate judgement of Samson, for that it's God's, but I'm pondering his story it did bring the following to mind.
We can play a role in God's plan without following His plan for us. This is dangerous. We cannot say "because I am doing good and helping His work, I must be on the right path". Yes, we may be doing His work for others, but are we doing His work for us? Without change and repentance, keeping our covenants, and following Christ (internally and externally) we will find ourselves spiritually dead between the pillars of sin and selfishness.
Additionally, when we follow God's plan for us, we will be far more effective at forwarding His plan for others. It is possible to see "good" and be content, but we cannot sacrifice "best" for "good".
