When we think of Enoch and his people, we think of Zion. The people who were of one heart and one mind and there was no poor among them. The people who were so unified that God took them up to him and removed the City of Enoch from the earth.

However, one chapter earlier, listen to how God described these very same people:

"I am angry with this people, and my fierce anger is kindled against them; for their hearts have waxed hard, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes cannot see afar off;28 And for these many generations, ever since the day that I created them, have they gone astray, and have denied me, and have sought their own counsels in the dark; and in their own abominations have they devised murder, and have not kept the commandments, which I gave unto their father, Adam.29 Wherefore, they have foresworn themselves, and, by their oaths, they have brought upon themselves death; and a hell I have prepared for them, if they repent not;"

These are the same people that God later translated because of their righteousness. This isn't a story about being perfect, it's a story about how we can draw on the power of Jesus Christ, through faith, and be made whole. If we feel that we are not enough, that we can never be good enough, never be perfect, remember that the people of Enoch were far from perfect, too. They listened to a prophet's voice, repented, strived to love their neighbor and God, and kept trying. They did not make this change on their own, they turned to their Savior and made Him their focus. They followed him, and we can do the same.
