63 And the Lord said unto Enoch: Then shalt thou and all thy city meet them there, and we will receive them into our bosom, and they shall see us; and we will fall upon their necks, and they shall fall upon our necks, and we will kiss each other;

I love that the Lord included Enoch in "we". "We" shall receive them. We are called to do the Lord's work, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. To be Saviors on Mount Zion. I love that the Lord shares this with us, includes us in that "we" will rejoice because of those we help point towards Christ. As we serve, uplift, and share the gospel, we help bring others joy, which brings us the greatest joy. It's also such a cool feeling to know that we aren't working for Christ, we are working with Him. I've seen this distinction in different bosses I've had, and working with them is such a better feeling, and the Lord magnifies that. I'm grateful for the Savior's mercy in allowing me, and imperfect being, to share in the joy of working with Him.

Everett asked me to watch Avatar the Last Airbender with him last night. It was a filler episode that showed journeys of each character. When Iroh's story started Cherrish said "get ready for dad to cry". While it's a fictional animation, I love things that point to Christ and His gospel. Iroh spent his day making others happy, taking the time to listen, cheering up a crying child, fixing the stance of someone who tried to rob him and then telling him he didn't look like the criminal type. He then sat with that man and listened, encouraged, and helped point him on a better path. He brought joy to others around him. His story ends with him weeping under a cherry blossom tree as he mourns the anniversary of his son's death. He carries a deep sorrow that could be debilitating, but he chooses to spend his time blessing others and bringing them joy, which in turn brings him joy.

Our Savior felt the sum of all sorrow, He knows the ultimate pain and suffering, yet he works to bring us joy. We each carry with us sorrow of some sort, but the important thing is what we do with that sorrow. Do we let it weigh us down, or let it teach us empathy to lighten the path for others? To mourn with those who mourn and comfort those who stand in need of comfort. This is ministering, this is love, this is charity.

We read earlier that the Lord called his people Zion because they were of one heart and one mind and dwelt in righteousness, and there was no poor among them. The Lord did not call them Zion and then change them, the work came first. We have to become a people of one heart and mind in the Lord before we can be called Zion. We have to do the work (and He will help us) before He can come again. We aren't waiting on the Lord for the second coming, He is waiting on us.
