50 And it came to pass that Enoch continued his cry unto the Lord, saying: I ask thee, O Lord, in the name of thine Only Begotten, even Jesus Christ, that thou wilt have mercy upon Noah and his seed, that the earth might never more be covered by the floods.51 And the Lord could not withhold; and he covenanted with Enoch, and sware unto him with an oath, that he would stay the floods; that he would call upon the children of Noah;

We close our prayers in the name of Jesus Christ. Often, we don't fully think about what this means other than a conclusion to a prayer. When we pray in sincerity, we have the opportunity to invoke the power of the infinite Atonement of our Savior. Enoch cried to God, in the name of His Only Begotten, who would pay the ultimate price for sin. His Atonement covered the iniquity of mankind so that the Lord could not withhold.

Prayer is a key element in accessing the power of the Atonement of Christ.

Earlier this week we went as an EQ presidency to visit Craig Peugnet, who is declining from a Parkinson's like illness. This is the first year he cannot mountain bike like he used to and it's eating at him. He was clearly frustrated and scared. As he told us that it's his to hear and no one else's, I felt the prompting to tell him that's not true. His Savior knows his pain and can help him. I'm grateful for that prompting and that the Lord enabled me to listen and follow it. The spirit that was felt afterwards, and the tears that accompanied our conversation were sweet. Craig knows where to turn for peace, we all do, but when the spirit speaks, he adds new resolve to truth. I want to serve and uplift others more. I want to be an instrument in the Lord's hands.
