"offering up their children unto these dumb idols" (Abraham 1:7).
"offering up their children unto these dumb idols" (Abraham 1:7). While we certainly are not using our children for human sacrifice, do we ever teach them idolatry? Offering them up to dumb idols that contribute to spiritual death?
Anything we value above God - as witnessed by how we spend our time, our attitude towards sacred things, and how we treat others - is a false idol. We have a solemn responsibility to teach our children that God and His gospel are the most important priority and deserve the greatest amount of our love, time, and effort.
Are or actions and teachings pointing out children towards Christ, or are they contributing to spiritual death by offering our children up unto dumb idols?
We can choose better each day, even each hour.
