While most of us never live through an event quite as perilous as Esther, the book of Esther is one of the most relatable books of scripture in our day-to-day lives. This book, unlike most other scriptures, does not mention God. That may seem strange because God is clearly involved in Esther's story and the salvation of the Jews, but it's not called out explicitly like other scripture stories. We have to look for, and choose to see, the hand of God in Esther's story.

Similarly, in our life each day, God does not write a line in the air in front of our eyes every time He does something for us. There is no proclamation of "and thus the Lord hast done this thing for you". Like the book of Esther, we must seek to see the Lord's hand, and as we do, we begin to find it every day. Especially during difficult trials, when it may seem as though God is nowhere to be found, if we look, we will clearly see that He is closer than ever in those moments.

Just as it may shock some to learn that God isn't mentioned in Esther because of how evident His hand is in her story, so should we feel about our lives. His hand is in the details that make up the very seconds of our lives because He loves us.
