Footnoted wordsFree

Words that carry a footnote in the Church's edition of the scriptures are shown in light blue, just like a printed set, so you can see where there is more to learn and go straight to it.

How to use it

  1. Read any chapter, or open a study. Words in light blue have footnotes.
  2. Tap a light blue word to open that verse's footnotes on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
  3. Or tap the pencil on a verse, open Explore, and tap Footnotes; the number beside it tells you how many that verse has.

Good to know

  • The footnotes themselves live on the Church's site, so opening them needs a connection. The blue words show offline.
  • You can still start a highlight on a blue word: press and drag to select, and nothing opens.
  • The same Explore menu also shows how many talks, songs and articles cite the verse.
