Judges repeats a similar story over and over, which is the children of Israel forget their God, worship false idols, and fall into captivity. And then we read, many times: "And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them".
Despite the Israelites constant return to sin, the Lord never forsook them. He remembered His covenant and as soon as they turn to Him and cried, He was there to deliver.
In our lives we fall short. We sin, find ourselves in captivity, repent and call upon the Lord and then inevitably sin again. As we continue to cry unto the Lord and put our faith in Him, He will help us change and fully deliver us from the natural man and the world.
