The practice of looking for Christ in the Old Testament enhances our ability to better see Him in our daily lives.

The Book of Mormon can be type of Christ. If we imagine the scriptures through the lense of the Plan of Happiness, the Bible, which proceeded from the mouth of the Jew, was whole. The world, through the great and abominable church, stripped the Bible of many plain and precious things, so it was fallen, and therefore many did stumble. But the Lord provided another set of scriptures to overcome, or reconcile, the fallen state of the scriptures and help point towards salvation.

1 Nephi 13:41 And they must come according to the words which shall be established by the mouth of the Lamb (reminds me of the parable of the wedding feast, where the one guest isn't wearing the proper wedding garment and therefore did not enter through the proper door where the garment was provided to other guests. Christ is the way, the only way, we can enter).

Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine (all the world is His - we are all children of God. What makes a person or people God's chosen people? They over His voice, commandments, and make and keep sacred covenants with Him. God doesn't discriminate, He doesn't choose who is and who is not His people - we do)
