The Hebrew word yeshuah usually translates to "salvation" but there are 4 times in the Old Testament where it was translated in English to "become my salvation". Isaiah 12:2 is one of those times and the rendering is a powerful Messianic prophesy with dual, literally meanings. The first, Jehovah will become my salvation, is a rare allusion in the Old Testament (thanks to the many precious things lost) to the Atonement of Jehovah made manifest and His central role in the plan of salvation. The second is a prophesy of a direct name change. Not only will Jehovah become our salvation, but he became Yeshuah, the Hebrew name of the son of Mary - the Only Begotten Son of our Heavenly Father.
