As I think about Job, all he went through, and how he maintained his integrity and trust in the Lord, I am inspired and made to think on what really matters in life. Of course health and finances matter. Family especially matters as it is central to God's plan and one of the core reasons we are on this earth. However, of all the things that are important, nothing will matter if we don't learn to trust in our Savior.

When things are difficult, most likely, we are not as Job yet, and we surely will never descend lower than the Son of Man did. That doesn't make our challenges any less difficult for us, but it does give us two examples of what to do when we find ourselves drowning in sorrow, pain, loss, or heartache. Trust in the Lord and it will eventually be for our benefit. He loves us dearly and infinitely. He also felt and experienced, through His atoning moments, exactly what we are going through, and He can walk with us through anything.

Sometimes I worry about the trials that will come. I don't willingly ask for them, but I do pray that when they come I can, with Job, at that "I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:"

As a fun side note, the Hebrew word translated to "stand" in the verse above (qum) is often translated into "arise", which I find fitting for this resurrection verse.
