CatchphraseFree

A scripture phrase appears and your team has to say it before the buzzer, without you saying any of its words. A lively pass-the-phone game for two teams, with a quieter version to play on your own.

How to use it

  1. From the home screen, tap Games, then Catchphrase.
  2. Tap the Setup bar under How to play and choose Around the table. Pick a set of Phrases and a Difficulty.
  3. Tap Play. A phrase appears and a hidden clock starts ticking.
  4. Describe it without saying any word in the phrase. The moment your team gets it, pass the phone to the other team. Tap Skip if you are stuck.
  5. When the buzzer goes, the other team gets the point: tap their name under Award the point, then Start round for the next phrase. First team to 7 wins.

Good to know

  • Turn the volume up. The beeps speed up as time runs out, and that is half the fun.
  • Choose Come, Follow Me under Phrases to play with phrases from this week’s reading, or step to another week with the arrows.
  • Easy keeps to phrases of four words or fewer. Harder uses the full phrases.
  • On your own turns it into a quiz: the phrase is shown with four references, and you pick where it comes from.
